At a total cost of $500, or $125 per week, Genius Camp and ABC Camp are affordable options for families who wish to have their children engaged in meaningful, educational activity this summer. Other local camps range in cost from $150 to $500 per week. With our summer programs, the Learning Laboratory New Orleans is truly able to meet its organizational goal, which is to offer high-quality programs for K-12 students at a reasonable cost.

Our summer programs usually fill up quickly, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Parents can reserve a child’s spot today for only $100!

Learners will:

  • Build kinetic sculptures inspired by Theo Jansen’s Strandbeest machines, an exemplary model of the unification of STEM and art.
  • Explore the New Orleans arts community and its connections to science, technology, engineering and math through research, writing, hands on activities and weekly themed field trips.
  • Travel to Pensacola, Florida for a day trip, to visit the Pensacola MESS Hall (Math, Engineering, Science and Stuff).
  • Identify a specific skill or body of knowledge he or she will research during daily “genius hour” time.

Learners will:

  • Celebrate each letter of the alphabet with daily reading, writing and arts activities.
  • Continue the celebration on Saturday and Sunday with weekend activity guides that will go home each Friday.
  • Engage in daily physical activity at Audubon Park and weekly field trips to local attractions including Latter Library, Aububon Zoo and the St. Charles Streetcar.
